General Program Questions
With Double Up Food Bucks Colorado, participants in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP or food assistance) and Summer EBT will receive a dollar-for-dollar match in vouchers for their SNAP purchases. These vouchers can be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables, dried beans, or food-producing seeds or plants at our participating locations.
Anyone receiving SNAP benefits is automatically eligible for the program. If you have an EBT Card, you are eligible for Double Up.
Statewide, more than 100 stores, farm stands, and farmers markets participate in Double Up. Find a location or contact us to find a participating site near you.

Here's how it works.
Yes. While some markets are available year-round, many markets and food box programs end on October 31st. Participants should make sure to ask market staff when they close for the season, or for how long they will have Colorado-grown produce in stock, and make sure to use their Double Up Food Bucks before the end of the season. Participants should check the expiration date on the back of their Double Up vouchers before use. Save A Lot receipt vouchers expire 60 days from issuance, City of Boulder Whole Foods vouchers expire quarterly, and Jefferson County Safeway coupons expire at the end of the month following issuance.

Double Up at the Grocery Store
When you use your EBT Card, Double Up matches your fruit and vegetable purchases. For every $1 you spend SNAP-eligible itemss, you earn $1 in Double Up Food Bucks to buy fresh fruits and vegetables, up to $20 a day.
Grocery stores may use vouchers or coupons printed directly on receipts.
Double Up runs throughout the year at participating stores.

Shopping at the Farmers Market
For every $1 spent with your EBT Card at participating farmers markets, you receive $1 of Double Up Food Bucks to spend on any Colorado-grown fruits and vegetables, up to $20 per day.
Farmers markets distribute Double Up Food Bucks as vouchers, which can be used at any location that participates in Double Up and accepts vouchers across the state.
SNAP vouchers can be spent on any SNAP-eligible items at the farmers market including fruits, vegetables, bread, eggs, and meat.
Double Up Food Bucks vouchers can be used on Colorado-grown fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, food-producing seeds or plants, and dry beans.

SNAP, EBT and Colorado Quest Card
SNAP is a federal food assistance program that provides benefits (or food stamps) so that people in need can purchase healthy food.
Double Up Food Bucks doubles the value of SNAP benefits spent at participating farmers markets and grocery stores.
SNAP is the federal program that provides food assistance, often called food stamps, to those who need it. EBT stands for "Electronic Benefits Transfer" and is the mechanism to use SNAP benefits.
In Colorado, people who are eligible for SNAP are provided a Quest Card. The Quest Card is used to purchase eligible food products and access benefits electronically, through EBT, rather than using paper food stamps and checks.

Yes, you can use your EBT card out of state.
You can use your EBT card to buy groceries and seeds or plants that produce food. Non-food items and hot and ready food items cannot be purchased with EBT.
No, pet food cannot be purchased with an EBT card.
